Flownex® was used to investigate the flow distribution for a new generation John-Thomson MicroGen Boiler. Steam circulation is critical for maintaining efficient steam production and a prolonged life span of boiler tubes. A collaborative research project between ATPRoM and John Thompson used Flownex® to develop a 1D model. The study provided important insights into the flow distribution and membrane metal temperatures. The results provided assurance to John Thompson that the there is sufficient flow distribution in the MicroGen boiler.
